Rockets Mourn the Loss of Legendary Coach Brian Eisner

Eisner led the Rockets to four consecutive MAC Championships in the late 1960's
TOLEDO, Ohio – One of the most successful head coaches in Toledo Athletics history, Brian Eisner, has passed away, his family announced this week.
Eisner led the men's tennis team to four consecutive Mid-American Conference titles (1966-69) and posted double-figure win totals in each of his six seasons at the helm of the program. While leading the program, Eisner was able to coach his younger brother Dean.
"Even though Brian Eisner's legacy in college tennis has few rivals, but what he stood for more than anything, was his passion and enthusiasm," said Toledo men's tennis Head Coach Al Wermer. "He was a tireless worker who loved his players and loved life."
After leading the Rockets for six successful seasons, Eisner became the head men's tennis coach at the University of Michigan. He helped guide the Wolverines to 18 Big Ten Championships and 18 NCAA Tournament appearances. He totaled over 520 dual match victories throughout his career and coached 16 All-Americans. Inducted into UT's Varsity T Hall of Fame in 1993, Eisner was also an inductee in the ITA Collegiate Hall of Fame and the Michigan Athletics Hall of Honor.
