Chicago native to have three seasons of eligibility remaining
TOLEDO, Ohio – Head coach Tod Kowalczyk announced Monday that 6-foot-5, 213-pound forward Chris Riddle (Chicago, Ill.) will transfer to the University of Toledo to join the Rockets' men's basketball program next season. Riddle has three years of eligibility remaining after playing last season at DePaul.
"Chris is another guy we saw quite a bit in high school and tried to recruit him the first time around," Kowalczyk said. "We really enjoyed meeting with Chris and his family on his visit. He has good positional size and is someone who can help us right way. Chris is also a really good shooter and that's an area we needed to address."
Riddle appeared in 19 games as a freshman for the Blue Demons and shot 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from three-point range. He played a season-high 19 minutes in a 75-65 loss at Creighton (Feb. 26) during which he registered two steals and a block.
Riddle was a three-star rated recruit by ESPN.com from Kenwood Academy HS and the No. 6-rated player in the state of Illinois by 247Sports coming out of high school.
He also was ranked in the Top 50 nationally at his position by 247Sports. Riddle was also rated as the No. 4 player in Illinois by the Chicago Sun-Times.
