Senior CJ van Wyk tied for eighth place with two-under par 69
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Senior CJ van Wyk was tied for eighth place with a two-under par 69 following Friday's opening round at Vanderbilt's Mason Rudolph Championship. The Rockets were tied for seventh place in the team standings and still had approximately eight holes to play in the second round before play was suspended.
Freshman Bence Bertenyi also shot under par in the opening 18 holes and was tied for 17th place at one-under par 70. Junior Mads Jensen is tied for 25th place with an even-par 71.
van Wyk birdied four of his first seven holes to get to three-under par, while Jensen was at three-under after registering an eagle on his eighth hole.
No. 19 Vanderbilt led after one round at 16-under par 268, four shots in front of No. 5 Ole Miss and eight ahead of No. 2 Auburn. Toledo was tied for seventh place at two-over par.
The remainder of the second round will be played tomorrow beginning with an 8:00 a.m. CT shotgun start followed by the third and final round.
