Senior shoots even-par to lead Rockets

GROVE CITY, Ohio – Senior Jamie Butler carded an even-par 72 in Monday's second round and is leading Toledo at the Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championships. The Rockets are in sixth place in the team standings at five-over par at the par-72, 7,462-yard Pinnacle Golf Club.

Butler, who is tied for sixth place at two-under par, was at three-under today after notching birdies on the 10^th and 11^th holes. He then posted bogeys on the 12^th, 15^th and 17^th holes to finish his day at even-par.

Senior CJ van Wyk matched Butler for the Rockets' best round of the day and is tied for 26^th place at four-over par. He was at two-under par following back-to-back birdies at No. 14 and No. 15 but recorded bogeys on the 16^th and 18^th holes.

Freshman Bence Bertenyi is tied for 18^th place at one-over par, freshman Julius Lange is tied for 21^st place at two-over par, and junior Mads Jensen is in 40^th place at 10-over par.

Opening-round co-leader Eastern Michigan leads the nine-team field at 15-under par, three strokes in front of second-place Kent State. The Eagles' Rory McDonald-O'Brien is leading all individuals at 10-under par after firing a seven-under 65 today. The Golden Flashes' Jordan Gilkinson is in second place with a six-under par 138.

Toledo's tee times in tomorrow's third and final round will begin at 9:00 a.m.
