TOLEDO, Ohio. – The Toledo men's tennis team fell to Mid-American Conference opponent Ball State, 5-2, on Thursday at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts. The loss snapped the Rockets' eight-match home winning streak.

The Cardinals (10-7, 2-2 MAC) took a 1-0 lead after grabbing the doubles point with a 6-3 win on the No. 1 court and a 6-4 victory on the No. 2 court.

In singles play, Ball State extended its lead to 2-0 after earning a win over Cole Cozens on the No. 3 court. On the No. 5 court, Lucas Britez put Toledo (9-7, 3-3 MAC) on the board with a 6-4, 6-1 victory and cut Ball State's lead in half, 2-1.

Matias Olivero and Joshua Mackey fell on the No. 2 and No. 4 courts, respectively, as Ball State clinched match point, 4-1. Senior Hanamichi Carvajal concluded the match by tallying a three-set win, 3-6, 6-2, 7-5, on the No. 1 court to record the final score of 5-2.

UP NEXT
Toledo will host Western Michigan on Saturday for its last home match of the season. First serve from Shadow Valley Tennis Club or the UT Varsity Tennis Club, weather permitting, is set for 1:00 p.m.
