Rockets entertaining Falcons for first installment of Battle of I-75 on Sunday
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team will continue Mid-American Conference play this weekend, hitting the road to take on Buffalo on Friday, March 21 at 12:00 p.m. The Rockets will return home for the Battle of I-75, hosting Bowling Green on Sunday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. at TWOs Athletic Club (indoor) or the UT Varsity Tennis Courts (outdoor). Sunday's match will be broadcasted on BCSN and ESPN+.
ABOUT THE ROCKETS
Toledo owns an overall record of 7-4 (0-1 MAC) after dropping a close match against Miami on Sunday, 4-3. Freshman Jacklynka Scholten moved to 9-0 in singles play after winning in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) on the No. 2 court. Jone Ibanez and Catherine Rhegness also earned singles wins against the RedHawks on the No. 4 and No. 6 courts, respectively.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Buffalo enters the match with a 14-2 (1-0 MAC) record. The Bulls won their first MAC dual match of the season, downing Bowling Green, 4-3, on Sunday. The Rockets and the Bulls last met on April 18, 2024 with Toledo posting a 6-1 win.
Bowling Green enters the match with a 9-5 (0-1 MAC) record. The Falcons fell to Buffalo, 4-3, on Sunday. Bowling Green will play at Miami on Friday before returning to Northwest Ohio for the matchup against Toledo on Sunday. The Rockets and Falcons last met on April 7, 2024 with Toledo sweeping 7-0.
