Rockets Ready for Road Tilt Against UIC, University of Chicago

Toledo looks to build on their strong start to the season
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team is set to go on the road for the third-straight weekend. The Rockets will travel to Chicago, Ill. and meet UIC on Friday, Feb. 21 at 12:00 p.m. and conclude the weekend with the University of Chicago on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE ROCKETS
Toledo sits at 5-1 on the season after falling to West Virginia, 4-1, and beating Temple, 5-0, last weekend. Freshman Jacklynka Scholten picked up two singles victories last weekend to remain undefeated at 6-0. Scholten was named Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week for her efforts.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
UIC enters the weekend with a 3-2 record. The Flames swept Milwaukee 7-0 on Feb. 14 and fell to Northwestern 5-2 on Feb. 16. Toledo took the last meeting against UIC at home 6-1 on Feb. 2, 2024 with UIC leading the all-time series 11-8.
University of Chicago owns an overall record of 5-0 on the season. The Maroons won the 2024 NCAA Division III National Championship and are currently ranked No. 1 in the country in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III National Rankings. Saturday's match marks the first meeting between the University of Chicago and Toledo.
