Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Toledo softball team had its three-game winning streak snapped in a 7-6 defeat to Saint Francis on the second day of the Spiro Classic in Greensboro, N.C. on Saturday evening.
Toledo (5-2) struck first, recording two runs in the first inning off a double from
Audrey Miller and a sacrifice fly from
Maris Barbato. The Rockets were able to extend their lead, 4-1, thanks to RBIs from Miller and Barbato. The Red Flash scored six runs through the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to take the lead.
Toledo rallied to get within one run during the seventh inning with an RBI from Miller, but the Rockets were unable to even the score.
Sophia Knight threw 4.0 innings in her third start of the season, giving up three runs on four hits. Senior
Kylee Graham (2-2) gave up four runs on five hits in 2.0 innings pitched.
ROCKET NOTES
- Freshman right fielder Audrey Miller went 2-for-4 at the plate with two doubles while adding a career-best three RBIs and one run scored.
- Senior catcher Maris Barbato added two RBIs on a sacrifice fly.
- Freshman left fielder Samantha Bolding recorded her second multi-hit game of the season, tallying three hits against the Red Flash.
- Eli Enriquez swiped a base in the first inning and is now tied for seventh on Toledo's all-time list in career stolen bases with 42.
