TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team plays its second straight home match on Friday, Jan. 31 when it hosts Cleveland State. First serve from Twos Athletic Club is set for 1:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE ROCKETS
Toledo (1-0) opened its dual season with a 6-1 victory over Tiffin on Jan. 24. The Rockets took the doubles point after clinching victories on all three doubles courts. In singles play, Toledo took five out of six courts with Gaby Rondon recording a win on the No. 2 court 6-0, 6-0.
Freshmen Jacklynka Scholten, Neha Guru and Annika Munson all tallied their first career singles wins on the No. 3, 4 and 6 courts, respectively. Scholten and Guru earned a win on the No. 1 doubles court while Munson grabbed a doubles victory on the No. 3 court.
ABOUT CLEVELAND STATE
Cleveland State enters the weekend with a 2-2 record, defeating Dayton and Miami while falling to Marshall and No. 15 Ohio State. Junior Ella Franz, senior Sima Heren and senior Oihane Vicario are all 3-1 in singles matchups this dual season.
The Rockets and the Vikings last met on Feb. 2, 2024 with Toledo posting a 5-2 win in Cleveland, Ohio.
UP NEXT
Toledo will play its first road matches of the dual season with a trip to Youngstown State on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1:00 p.m. and concludes the weekend at Duquesne on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 1:00 p.m.
