Junior Audrey Moutama clinches match win on the No. 1 singles court
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team recorded a 6-1 victory over Cleveland State at Twos Athletic Club on Friday afternoon. Junior Audrey Moutama clinched the Rockets' win with a three-set tiebreaker on the No. 1 singles court.
Toledo extended its home winning streak to 16 matches. The winning streak also began with a 6-1 victory over Cleveland State on Jan. 22, 2023.
"I am so proud of the effort of this young team today," said Head Coach Tracy Mauntler. "Cleveland State is a really experienced team with lots of seniors. I thought we were extremely mentally tough on all six singles courts!"

The Rockets (2-0) fell in doubles play, dropping two of three courts. Jone Ibanez and Audrey Moutama fell on the No. 2 court, 6-3, while Jacklynka Scholten and Neha Guru dropped the No. 1 court, 6-2. Despite the doubles point being claimed by Cleveland State, Gabby Rondon and Annika Munson tallied a win on the No. 3 court, 6-4.
In singles play, freshman Neha Guru recorded a straight-set victory 6-4, 6-3 on the No. 4 court to tie the match, 1-1. Freshman Jacklynka Scholten tallied a 6-2, 6-4 win on the No. 3 court to give Toledo the lead, 2-1. Sophomore Jone Ibanez grabbed a three-set win on the No. 5 court, 6-1, 4-6, 7-5, giving the Rockets a 3-1 lead.
Moutama's three-set tiebreaker on the No. 1 singles court clinched the victory for Toledo. Moutama took down Cleveland State's Vicario 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 (7-3). Following Moutama's clinching win, freshman Annika Munson grabbed a straight-set win on the No. 6 court, 6-3, 6-1. Sophomore Gaby Rondon tallied a three-set victory, 5-7, 7-5, 6-3, on the No. 2 singles court to clinch the sweep of the singles courts for the Rockets.

Toledo will play its first road matches of the dual season with a trip to Youngstown State on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1:00 p.m. and conclude the weekend at Duquesne on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 1:00 p.m.
