Toledo Heads to Eastern Michigan and Notre Dame This Weekend

Rockets set to compete at Bob Parks Memorial and Notre Dame Invitational
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's track and field team will split between two meets this weekend, sending its sprinters and jumpers to Eastern Michigan's Bob Parks Memorial and distance runners to the Notre Dame Invitational on Saturday.
Field events at the Bob Parks Memorial will begin at 10:00 a.m. with running events kicking off at 1:00 p.m. At the Notre Dame Invitational, running events are set to start at 1:15 p.m.
Last weekend at the Al Campbell Invitational in Akron, Ohio, senior Samantha Thomas broke the school record in the 400m with a final time of 54.82. Thomas bested the record set by Varsity T Hall of Famer Shantel Ransom in 1991. Thomas also earned a fourth-place finish in the 200m with a mark of 24.62, the eighth-fastest time in program history.
Senior Mayson Bates took second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.83, while redshirt freshman Bella Earl placed third in the mile run with a mark of 5:07.42. In field events, senior Sydney Caddell earned fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.40m.
