Rockets compete at home for first time in 2025

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team opens its 2025 home season by hosting IU Indy on Saturday and Butler on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Shadow Valley Tennis Club.

ABOUT THE ROCKETS
Toledo (0-1) opened the dual season with a 4-0 loss to No. 3 Ohio State on Jan. 18. Cole Cozens held tough against his opponents, tying 6-6 on his singles court and 3-3 on the No. 1 doubles court alongside Charlie Snow before both matches were abandoned.

This weekend marks the first time that newcomers Lucas Britez, Joshua Mackey and Eli Wiblin will compete in a home match.

ABOUT IU INDY
IU Indy sits at 0-1 after falling to Northern Illinois, 4-3, on Jan. 18. Steven Paz, Eli Mercer and Pumiphat Sukkho all earned singles wins for the Jaguars.

Toledo and IU Indy met last season, as the Rockets earned a 5-0 win in Indianapolis, Ind. on Jan. 21, 2024.

ABOUT BUTLER
Butler enters the weekend 1-0 after defeating Cleveland State on Jan. 19, 4-3 in Indianapolis. Nicolas Arts and Rahulniket Konakanchi each tallied wins on their singles courts to grab the match victory.

The Rockets and Bulldogs met on Jan. 21, 2024 as Toledo took the 4-3 win in Indianapolis, Ind.

UP NEXT
Toledo will hit the road to take on Indiana on Sunday, Feb. 2. First serve from Bloomington, Ind. is set for 4:00 p.m. from the IU Tennis Center.
