TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team is back at Scott Park for its final two series of the regular season with the goal of securing a spot in the 2024 Mid-American Conference Softball Championship Tournament in Akron, Ohio. The Rockets will host 2023 MAC Champion Miami for a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 30, followed by a three-game series with Buffalo on Saturday-Sunday, May 4-5.

Toledo (22-19, 12-8 MAC) will honor its eight seniors this weekend – Jenna Kroll, Lauren Erickson, Lexi Eckman, Riley Mohr, Emily Bracamonte, Molly Ryan, Leah Tipple, and Madison Mikulski.

The Rockets are in fourth place in the MAC standings with a 12-8 league record. The top six teams in the conference will play in the MAC Championship Tournament on May 8-11 in Akron, Ohio. Miami (40-7, 21-1 MAC) and Western Michigan (25-20, 14-8 MAC) secured their spots in the tournament last weekend.  

Last Time on the Field
The Rockets took the series opener vs. Western Michigan 3-0 on Friday morning before dropping the next two games, 7-6 and 3-0. Freshman Mady Yackee recorded her second collegiate shutout in the opening win, and Kroll cranked out two home runs in Friday's nightcap.

Rockets in the Rankings

• Toledo takes a .309 batting average and .430 slugging percentage into the final week of competition, both program records.  
• Kroll's two home runs in Kalamazoo puts her at 23 in her career, which is tied with Kaitlyn Bergman (2014-19) for the No.2 spot in program history. Dayna Denner (2020-22) leads the program with 28 homers. Kroll also ranks No.4 in Toledo history with 108 career RBIs and is four away from passing No.3 Lindsey Tobias (2010-13) with 111.
• Mohr drove in two runs over the weekend to bring her career total to 93, which now ranks No.8 in Toledo's top 10.
• Junior Eli Enriquez leads the MAC with 28 stolen bases this year, which also ranks No.4 in program history, and needs four more to pass No.3 Jessica Lemieux's 31 thefts recorded in 2016. Leigh Ross (1991) set the single-season record of 44.

Amount Miami

• No.21 ranked Miami bounced back with four straight wins last week after their longest winning streak in MAC history of 23 consecutive games was snapped by Central Michigan on April 21. The RedHawks' series sweep over Kent State clinched the program's fifth consecutive MAC regular season title.
• Miami leads the conference with a combined .360 batting average with junior Jenna Golembiewski hitting .423, along with a conference-best 71 RBIs. The RedHawks' pitching staff is led by freshman Madilyn Reeves who has thrown 104 strikeouts in 120.0 innings in the circle.

About Buffalo

• Buffalo dropped its three-game series with Ohio last weekend and moved to 15-28 overall with a 7-15 MAC record.
• The Bulls are collectively hitting .253 with fifth-year senior Alexis Lucyshyn (.289) leading the way including 25 RBIs and 11 doubles.
• Lucyshyn also leads the Bulls in the circle with a 3.55 ERA and has 146 strikeouts in 128.1 innings pitched this year.
