Toledo's 4x100 relay team and sophomore Michaela McGill win events on Friday

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Toledo women's track & field highlighted the opening day of the Tiffin Track Carnival with a pair of first-place finishes highlighting Friday's action. Sophomore Michaela McGill won the 1500m and Toledo's relay team of sophomore Khamani Jones, sophomore Laryah Worthy, junior Jimesha Ragland, and freshman Isabelle Denny took the 4x100 crown with a 49.92 time.

McGill won her heat in the 1500m with a time of 4:57.73, and finished 10.59 seconds ahead of runner-up Kadi Baur (4:57.73) from Edinboro. Toledo's 4x100 relay team of Jones, Worthy, Ragland, and Denny crossed the finish line at 49.92 for their first relay win of the season. Denny and Ragland also competed in the 100m dash, finishing 12th and 20th, respectively.

Toledo will continue competition on Saturday with the Tiffin Track Carnival Second Chance beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Rockets' distance runners will begin the first day of Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m.
