Toledo Closes Out Regular Season with Buffalo on Saturday

Rockets honoring senior class before first serve at UT Varsity Tennis Courts
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team has secured its spot in the upcoming 2024 Mid-American Conference Tournament and will play Buffalo in the final match of the regular season for both teams on Saturday, April 13. The Rockets will honor seniors Marko Galic, Adam Kovac, and Pawit Sornlaksup before the 1:00 p.m. first serve against the Bulls at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts.
Toledo (11-10, 6-3 MAC) won its first conference game of the year at Buffalo, 5-2, on March 9. The Rockets sit third in the conference standings behind Northern Illinois (17-4, 6-2) and Western Michigan (14-5, 6-2), and a half-game ahead of Ball State (11-8, 5-3) entering the final week of the regular season. The 2024 Mid-American Conference Men's Tennis Tournament will take place on April 20-21 in Toledo, Ohio.
Last Time on the Court
Toledo downed both UIC and Northern Illinois, both by a 6-1 margin, at home last weekend to move up in the conference standings and secure its spot in the conference tournament. Freshman Poonthong Komolpisut clinched vs. the Flames and Galic secured the win over the Huskies. Komolpisut has the best conference record for the Rockets at 7-1 mostly at the No. 5 spot, and Sornlaksup has won his last four matches with a 13-2 ledger from the top court.
Milestone Markers
Buffalo (4-14, 0-9 MAC) has lost its last 10 matches and has yet to win a conference match this year. The Bulls won both doubles team points vs. UIC and NIU, but Theodoros Mitsakos and Finn Macnamara were the only two individual players to pick up a win last weekend.
