Toledo Faces Miami in the First of Two Meetings This Year

Rockets look to preserve their undefeated home record on Friday afternoon
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team will play its first of two meetings with Miami (Ohio) this Friday, March 29 in a 1:00 p.m. home match at Twos Athletic Club. The Rockets and RedHawks will meet again next Friday, April 5 in Oxford, Ohio.
The Rockets (10-4, 3-0 MAC) have won their last four matches and 12 straight at home since January of 2023. Toledo defeated Miami three times last year, the last being a 4-2 decider in the semifinal match of the 2023 MAC Tournament.
Last time on the Court
Toledo notched two more wins last week, both by a 6-1 margin, at Buffalo and against Bowling Green at home. Senior Julia Kuszynski (7-2) clinched match point over the Bulls to extend her winning streak to four matches, and senior Shalini Tallamraju (9-5) settled the score vs. the Falcons for her third straight win from the No. 4 court.
Rockets' Victory Milestones
Miami enters this week 9-7 overall with an identical 3-0 MAC record as Toledo to lead the East Division of the MAC Standings. After losing back-to-back matches at USF and FGCU, the RedHawks have won their last four matches. Catherine Denysiewicz contributed to Miami's victorious weekend with two wins at the No. 2 court and was named MAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week earlier this week.

- Alcala also leads the program with 164 combined wins, followed by No.4 Teske (150), No. 11 Tallamraju (110), and No.15 Kuszynski (101).
- UT has won 14 straight Mid-American Conference matches since April of 2022, including its last seven at home.
Miami enters this week 9-7 overall with an identical 3-0 MAC record as Toledo to lead the East Division of the MAC Standings.
