Toledo Heads to Buffalo on Friday Before Hosting Bowling Green on Sunday

Rockets look for 12th-straight home victory in Sunday’s Battle of I-75 with the Falcons
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team will head to Buffalo on Friday, March 22 for its first conference road match before hosting Bowling Green on Sunday, March 24 at Twos Athletic Club.
The Rockets defeated the Bulls twice last season and have won the last five matches against the Falcons since 2021. In the Sunday match, Toledo will put its 11-match home winning streak on the line in the first Battle of I-75 clash with Bowling Green this year. The two schools will also meet at Bowling Green on April 7.
Last Time on the Court
Toledo (8-4, 1-0 MAC) swept Western Michigan 7-0 for its first Mid-American Conference win of the year on Saturday. The Rockets claimed the doubles point, and won all six singles matches with the clinching point coming from freshman Gaby Rondon at the No. 3 flight. Senior Cassie Alcala got her revenge against Lindsey Zieglar in two sets after falling to her last year.
Rockets' Victory Milestones
Buffalo (14-14, 1-0 MAC) also won its conference opener in a 4-3 final against Bowling Green on Friday afternoon. Jagmeet Karu was named MAC Singles Player of the Week on Tuesday after clinching match point against the Falcons. Ambre Amat and Esmee Andersen are 10-4 this spring and have won MAC Singles Player of the Week honors twice this season.

Bowling Green is 7-6 and 0-1 in MACÂ play heading into this weekend under second-year head coach Mike Bonnell. The Falcons fell to Buffalo in their conference opener before defeating Oakland to split the weekend. BGSU will play at Western Michigan on Friday before stopping in the Glass City on Sunday afternoon.

- Alcala also leads the program with 161 combined wins. Teammate Teske ranks No. 4 with 147 singles and doubles victories, trailing No. 3 Maha Guirguis (2007-10) at 151 wins and No. 2 Martina Wodzinski (2007-10) with 154 combined victories.
