
The Rockets collected 230 team points, seven combined podium finishes, and one school record over four days of competition at the MAC Championships in Athens this weekend.

Lauren Kilgore Named Second-Team All-MAC for second straight year
ATHENS, Ohio – Fifth-year senior Lauren Kilgore was named Second-Team All-MAC to lead the way for the Toledo women's swimming & diving team at the 2024 Mid-American Conference Championships. The Rockets finished seventh overall with 230 team points, had seven combined podium finishes, and set one school record over four days of competition in Athens.
Kilgore swam in UT's 200 medley, 400 medley, 200 freestyle, and 400 freestyle relay teams, finished individually on the podium in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly, and set Toledo's 100 butterfly school record. She also earned second-team all-conference honors at last year's 2023 MAC Championships.
Senior Jovana Duric (17:17.55), junior Lindsey Creek (17:23.01), and freshman Clarke Doyle (17.45.96) finished with season-best times in the 1,650 freestyle in the first finals event of the evening.
Kilgore, Kennedy Lovell, and Janne Slegers all qualified for the finals of the 100 freestyle race.
Kilgore touched the wall at 50.32 to finish in eighth place, followed by Slegers (50.71) in 13th.  Lovell, a senior, finished 14th with a season-best time of 51.14 in the final individual event of her final MAC Championship meet.
Leah Evans was the lone Rocket representative in the 200 butterfly and finished 11th, clocking in at 2:03.34.Â
Kilgore, Slegers, Lovell, and Evans ended the meet with a fifth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay, with a season-best time of 3:21.82
Junior Paula Pavillard-Salvador (2:05.60), freshman Gracie Pardue (2:06.25), and junior Madeline Blakely (2:13.17) missed the finals but posted seasonal-best times in 200 backstroke. Freshman Mackenzie Carter (54.21) and junior Molly Pressler had their best 100 freestyle swims of the season as did senior Sydney Conrad who shaved five seconds off her season-best time (2:08.04) in the 200 butterfly but missed the finals.
Akron took home the 2024 MAC Championship for the third-straight season with a team score of 812.5.Â
Senior Madison Giglio and sophomore Annie Bartlett will compete at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in Lexington, Ky., while a select group of Rockets will race at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Ocala, Fla., on Mar. 14-16.
