Rockets and Zips will play a three-game series at the Lee R. Jackson Softball Field this Friday and Saturday
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team will play three games vs. Akron this Friday-Saturday, March 15-16 at the Lee R. Jackson Softball Field in the Mid-American Conference opening series for both schools.

Last Time on the Field
Toledo (9-10) played six games in four days and ended its spring break trip with a 3-3 record. The Rockets fell to Long Beach State in extra innings on Wednesday and split its opening game of the CSF/ LBSU Tournament vs. Fairfield on Thursday afternoon. The Rockets then took down Yale and Princeton on Friday's doubleheader, before falling to Utah State in extra innings on Saturday. Junior Sophia Knight was a force in the circle, producing a 0.98 ERA, and struck out 17 batters in 21.2 innings. For the weekend, senior Riley Mohr connected on nine hits, including four doubles, while Kendra VanderLugt had four doubles, a triple, a home run, and nine RBIs.

- Knight earned her second MAC Pitcher of the Week honor on Tuesday for her performance in California last week. Mohr was named MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday for her performance on the field and in the classroom.
- Senior Jenna Kroll hit her 21st career home run vs. Fairfield to tie her for No.4 all-time with Lindsey Tobias (2010-13) and Chandler Rice (2014-17) for 21 career homers. She also drove in her 93rd career RBI to put her in the No. 7 spot in UT history, one behind No.6 Erica Singer (2005-08) with 94.
- Junior Eli Enriquez is up to 17 stolen bases this season, tying her No.10 all-time with Lindsey Tobias' 17 stolen bases in 2012.
- Toledo finished 14-14 in MAC play last season under second-year head coach Jessica Bracamonte.
- The Rockets are 21-19 in conference openers and have won their last two conference openers vs. Western Michigan in 2022 and Bowling Green in 2023.
- Firestone Field in Akron, Ohio will be the neutral site for the 2024 Mid-American Conference Tournament on May 8-11.
- Akron split its doubleheader at Youngstown State on Tuesday afternoon, falling 5-3 in the opener before exploding with 14 hits to earn a 10-8 victory in the second game.
- The Zips were picked to finish fifth in the 2024 MAC Softball Preseason Poll and are hitting .244 this season while its pitching staff has produced a 4.24 ERA through the first 20 games of their season.
- Individually, Meghan Lee is batting.415 and has connected on 27 hits to lead the Akron offense. The circle is led by Haley Croyle (3-6) who has a 3.58 ERA with 20 strikeouts through 45.0 innings.
