Opening Tips
- Toledo will play its second home game of the season, taking on Northern Kentucky on Sunday.
- The Rockets got their season and home schedule started with a bang on Nov. 4, defeating Marshall 71-68 by rallying from a 16-point first-half deficit.
- Northern Kentucky is the only opponent from the Horizon League on Toledo's schedule this year. Toledo most recently played a Horizon League opponent in last season's WBIT first round, defeating Cleveland State 76-68 on March 21, 2024.
- Toledo has won 21 straight games against the Horizon League, a streak that dates back to March 20, 2015. The Rockets' last defeat to a Horizon League foe was to Detroit Mercy, 83-72 on Dec. 14, 2014.
- Toledo, which will play its next two contests at Savage Arena, has won 16 home games in a row dating back to last season. The streak began on Dec. 6, 2023 with a 69-46 triumph against Michigan.
- The Rockets' last home defeat was to Cincinnati on Nov. 19, 2023, meaning Toledo can surpass a calendar year without a home defeat with a win on Sunday.
- In that streak, Toledo has drawn three of the six largest home crowds in program history – 7,082 against Michigan (Dec. 6, 2023 – 2nd), 6,238 vs. Kent State (March 9, 2024 - 4th) and 6,077 against Bowling Green (Feb. 3, 2024 - 6th).
- Toledo averaged 4,351 fans for its home games last season, far out-pacing the rest of the MAC school and ranking 33rd in the country.
- UT drew 3,754 fans for its Monday-night season opener against Marshall, the largest crowd of any MAC program during the opening round of the MAC-SBC Challenge. Only one other school, Northern Illinois, eclipsed 2,000 fans on Nov. 4.
- Hannah Noveroske is tied for second in the league with five blocked shots, is fifth in field goal percentage at 64.7% and ninth in rebounds per game at 7.5.
- Sammi Mikonowicz is sixth in the league in scoring, averaging 16.0 points per game. Noveroske is tied for 15th, averaging 13.0 per contest.
- Sophomore Kendall Carruthers knocked down four three-pointers on Monday, going 4-for-7 from distance. That marked a Toledo player's first game of four three-pointers or more since Sophia Wiard knocked down four triples against Kent State on March 9, 2024.
- Carruthers is 13th in the MAC in three-point percentage thus far, shooting at a 44.4% clip.
- At 904 career rebounds, Mikonowicz is four away from surpassing Kim Sekulski for third all-time in Toledo history. Â
