COLUMBUS, Ohio –
Poonthong Komolpisut,
Hanamichi Carvajal and
Charlie Snow recently competed in the M25 International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tour tournament in Columbus, Ohio. The event included players currently competing in professional tennis.
Sophomore
Poonthong Komolpisut recorded a win in straight sets over opponent Zac Hamill during the singles qualifying draw. Komolpisut then fell to Matthew Terry in the quarterfinals.
Senior
Hanamichi Carvajal fell to Evan Sharygin in a tiebreak while sophomore
Charlie Snow dropped a straight set match to Brandon Carpico from Ohio State.
Carvajal and Komolpisut teamed up in doubles action, falling in the first round to Matisse Farzam and Christopher Li. Snow partnered up with Matthew Michibata, falling in straight sets to Hugo Conquelin/Danil Panarin.
"We can take a lot from this week," said Head Coach
Al Wermer. "We play these tournaments because they are intended for serious players who want to compete against top 600 ATP-level players."Â
UP NEXT
Toledo concludes its fall slate, hosting the Zach Barden Memorial Invitational on Nov. 15-17. All matches will take place at Launchpad Tennis Club.
