"I am so proud of our student-athletes for their tremendous work in the classroom," said Blair. "To have every team earn at least a 3.1 grade point average, and to have two teams, women's tennis and women's basketball, set the all-time GPA record in the same semester, says a lot about our commitment to academics.
"At the core of our mission is to graduate champions who will change the world. At our fall commencement ceremony last month, 38 student-athletes walked across the stage and officially became graduates of the University of Toledo. I can't wait to see what this class of graduates will accomplish in the future."
"I am very proud of the determination our student-athletes continue to show for their academics," added Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Experience Tony Belt. "This is the seventh semester in a row they have set a new semester GPA record. A big thanks to all faculty, staff and coaches that play a pivotal role in their academic success."Other highlights from this past semester include:
- A record 85 student-athletes (21.6%) earned President's List honors with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
- A record tying 212 student-athletes (53.9%) earned a spot on the Dean's List by garnering at least a 3.50 GPA.
- A record 314 out of 393 (79.8%) total student-athletes made the Honor Roll by securing a 3.00 GPA or higher.
