Toledo student-athletes top 3.4 GPA for fourth time in school history; every sport earns at least a 3.2 for first time
TOLEDO, Ohio – University of Toledo student-athletes earned a school-record grade-point average of 3.481 in the 2025 fall semester, Vice President and Director of Athletics Bryan B. Blair announced today.Â
It is the just the fourth time Rocket student-athletes have achieved a 3.4 GPA and the first time since the Fall of 2023. Toledo student-athletes have now recorded a GPA of 3.3 or higher in each of the past 13 semesters. Thirteen Rocket teams finished above a 3.4, and every sport earned at least a 3.2 GPA for the first time in school history.
"Setting a school-record with a 3.481 GPA with 73 student-athletes earning a perfect 4.0 is amazing on its own. What I really love is that every one of our teams earned at least a 3.2 GPA, which shows that our success in the classroom is ingrained as a part of our culture," said Blair.  "Our student-athletes continue to raise the bar academically while competing at the highest level. That's a testament to their hard work as well as the incredible support system provided by our coaches, faculty, and academic staff. This is what it means to be a Rocket—pursuing excellence in everything we do."
"All teams earning a 3.2 or higher GPA for the first time ever and six teams setting GPA records is so remarkable," added Associate Athletic Director of Student Athlete Academic Services Jillian Lehman. "I continue to be impressed with our student-athletes at the level they compete in all areas, but especially in the classroom. Of course, I must give credit to our coaches; they are the biggest supporters of these student-athletes in achieving academic success."
Women's Golf achieved the highest GPA in the department with a 3.876, which is second all-time for any Toledo sports, trailing only the record of 3.913 set by Women's Tennis in the fall of 2023. Women's Tennis was second with a 3.861 GPA, followed by Men's Golf (3.853).
Women's Golf and Men's Golf were two of six teams that set GPA records for the semester, joined by Baseball (3.558), Football (3.250), Men's Cross Country (3.614) and Women's Cross Country (3.683).
