No. 1 Seed Toledo to Face No. 4 Miami in MAC Tournament Semifinals

First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday in Muncie, Ind.
TOLEDO, Ohio – No. 1 seed Toledo (19-3, 10-0 MAC) and No. 4 seed Miami (11-13, 5-5 MAC) will open the 2023 Mid-American Conference Women's Tennis Championship on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Muncie, Ind.
The Rockets and the RedHawks met in the first round of last season's tournament with Toledo capturing a 4-1 victory.
The winner of the Toledo-Miami match will play the winner of No. 2 seed Ball State (20-3, 9-1 MAC) and No. 3 seed Buffalo (20-7, 6-4 MAC), who meet at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
All three matches are scheduled to be played at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center and will be broadcasted on ESPN+. In case of inclement weather, the matches will be moved indoors (Video Link) to the Northwest YMCA in Muncie, Ind.
This year's tournament is hosted by 2022 regular season champion Ball State. The Rockets won the 2023 regular season championship title, a first for the program, with a perfect 10-0 conference record.

Cassie Alcala clinched match point from the No. 1 court for the Rockets vs. the Bulls and Julia Kuszynski clinched match point from the No. 6 spot vs. the Falcons to end UT's conference play with a perfect record.
Toledo ended the regular season with a program-best 19-3 overall and 10-0 MAC record to claim the program's first regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the MAC Tournament.
The Rockets have combined for 11 MAC Player of the Week honors – seven singles and four doubles team honors.

Toledo at the MAC Championships
- Toledo's last appearance in the MAC Tournament was in 2022, when it finished runner-up to Ball State, falling 4-3 to the Cardinals. It was the Rockets' first appearance in the title match in program history.
- Cassie Alcala was named 2022 MAC Player of the Year and received First-Team All-MAC honors. Alcala ended the season on a six-match winning streak with a 2-0 record in singles play on the top court during the tournament.
- Sloane Teske also received First-Team All-MAC honors and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Teske went 2-0 from the No. 2 court and 1-1 from the No. 1 doubles court with Alcala.
- Shalini Tallamraju was named to the All-Tournament team with Teske. Tallamraju's Miami match was ruled unfinished in the semifinals match. She then defeated BSU's Amy Kaplan to tie the finals match at 3-3 from the No. 4 court.
