
Rockets to Compete in Penn Relays and Ashland Open This Weekend

Toledo will complete its regular season Thursday-Saturday
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's track team will wrap up its regular season at two meets this weekend. The distance runners will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. for the Penn Relays on Thursday-Saturday, April 27-29. Fans can watch the meet with a subscription to FloTrack. The rest of the team will compete at the Ashland Alumni Open on Friday-Saturday, April 28-29.
Three members of the Toledo men's cross country team will also run at the Penn Relays, competing in the 5000m.
The Rockets competed in Ohio State's Jesse Owens Track Classic last weekend. Sophomores Sydney Caddell and Alex Bauer recorded top-five finishes in the long jump and 1500m, respectively. Caddell finished fourth with a mark of 5.59m, and Bauer clocked a time of 4:34.20 to place fifth. Ava Moran (25.49) and Morgan Hicks (4:37.63) added PRs in the 200m and 1500m on the first day of competition.
On Saturday, Alexia Moehling led Toledo with a seventh-place finish in the 100H, posting times of 14.23 in the prelims and 14.28 in the finals. Freshman McKinley Fielding (11:33.89) made her collegiate debut in the 3000m steeplechase, while the 4x100m team of Paris Gosha, Ava Moran, Jimesha Ragland, and Meyah Haywood clocked a time of 47.92. Both times were the fastest by the Rockets this season.
The 10,000m squad received a No. 11 ranking in the nation for the second-straight week, as announced in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) #EventSquad rankings on Monday.
