
Jeron Williams Named MAC Player of the Week

Junior infielder hit .619 over four games last week
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo junior infielder Jeron Williams was named Mid-American Conference Baseball Player of the Week on Monday.
Williams was outstanding last week in games at Ohio State and vs. Akron. He hit .619 (13-for-21) across four games and stole four bases while slugging .952. Williams had at least three hits in all four games last week and extended his hitting streak to 30 games, the longest hitting streak by a Rocket since Chris Dudics' record-breaking 39-game streak.
Williams went 3-for-6 with two doubles at Ohio State to open the week and only got better as the week wore on. In Friday's game vs. Akron he went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and on Saturday he went 4-for-6 with a home run, four RBIs, and four runs scored. In Sunday's finale against the Zips, Williams went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
The Archbold, Ohio native has been outstanding this season, leading the MAC in stolen bases (17) and hits (42) and ranking second in batting average (.412). Williams ranks eighth in the country in stolen bases and 10th in hits.
This is Williams' first MAC weekly award this season and the second of his career.
