The Rockets and Falcons will play three games in annual Battle of I-75
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team will have its annual Battle of I-75 presented by Cooper Tires as its 2023 home opener this weekend at Total Sports – Rossford. The Rockets will play a doubleheader on Friday, March 17 (ESPN+) followed by a single game on Sunday, March 19 (ESPN3), with all three games to be televised locally on BCSN.

Toledo's Non-Conference Recap
- Toledo ended its 2023 non-conference schedule with a 7-11 record.
- Head Coach Jessica Bracamonte earned her fist win in the season opener vs. Bellarmine on Feb. 10. The Rockets swept the two-game series with the Knights that weekend.
- UT's biggest victory was a 5-2 upset over the No. 22 Northwestern on Sunday, March 5 in Louisville, Ky. The win is believed to be Toledo's first ever victory over a top-25 ranked team.
- Erin Hunt recorded her 50th career win and made her 100th career appearance on the mound vs. the Wildcats. She also hit the 500th career strikeout milestone in the first inning vs. Louisiana Tech on Feb. 17 in Youngsville, La.
- The Rockets went 3-2 at the UCF Invitational last weekend, picking up wins over Penn, North Dakota and Kennesaw State.
- All three of the Rockets' shutouts vs. Bellarmine (Feb. 11), Northern Kentucky (March 4), and North Dakota (March 11) were thrown by Hunt.
- The Rockets have hit .261 with a .340 slugging percentage, while the pitching staff has a 3.81 ERA and is holding opponents to a .242 batting average through the first 18 games this season.
- The Falcons lost back-to-back games heading into conference play. BG lost to No.19 Auburn 8-0 (5 inn.) on March 5 in its final game of the Jane B. Moore Memorial Tournament, before leaving Ann Arbor with a 9-0 (5 inn.) loss to Michigan on Wednesday evening.
- BG's Sophie Weber has a .382 average (7th MAC), with 21 hits (8th MAC) and six doubles (6th MAC).
- BG is hitting .257 this season and its pitchers have a combined 5.10 ERA
- Battle of I-75 presented by Cooper Tires. Toledo trails in the all-times series 44-72.
- Opening weekend! Toledo fans will receive a free 'Team Toledo' rally towel.
