Toledo Hosts Oakland Before Going on a Six-Match Road Stretch

Rockets will play final home non-conference match vs. Golden Grizzlies on Saturday afternoon
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team looks to continue its winning streak as it welcomes Oakland to Twos Athletic Club on Saturday, Feb. 4. The Rockets and Golden Grizzlies will take the court at 1:00 p.m.
After Saturday's match, Toledo will play the remainder of its non-conference schedule on the road before opening Mid-American Conference play on Saturday, Match 18 vs. Eastern Michigan.
About the Rockets
Toledo enters this weekend with a 4-1 record after winning back-to-back road matches last weekend. The Rockets defeated 2022 Horizon League champion Youngstown State, 5-2, on Friday and Duquesne, 6-1, on Saturday.
Junior Cassie Alcala won both of her matches from the No. 1 court, marking her 11th-straight win since last April. Her longest unbeaten stretch of her career is 15 matches from April 30, 2021 – Feb. 26, 2022. Senior Sloane Teske also won both of her matches over the weekend to give her an eight-match win streak since April. Teske's longest run was 13 matches between May 5, 2021- March 8, 2022.
About Oakland
Oakland will start its 2023 campaign this weekend when it visits Western Michigan on Friday before heading down to the Glass City on Sunday. The Golden Grizzlies ended the 2022 season on a three-match losing streak and an 8-11 record. Oakland was eliminated in the first round of the 2022 Horizon League Championship after dropping a 4-3 decision to Milwaukee.
