Sophomore registers five-stroke victory after shooting career-low five-under par 208
COVINGTON, La. – Sophomore Yedam Lee won her first collegiate tournament title on Tuesday by five strokes to lead the Toledo women's golf team to a third-place finish at the Tchefuncta Invitational. Lee finished with a career-low 54-hole total of five-under par 208 at the par-71, 6,044-yard Tchefuncta Country Club.
Â
"I'm very proud of Yedam!" Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said. "Today was the biggest challenge for her, teeing it up with the lead for the first time and playing with the person who's chasing her. She fully committed to her process and worked through struggles with grace and composure. She set the stage to say "come get me if you can".Â
Lee shot a one-over par 72 today after opening the tournament yesterday with back-to-back career-low 68's. She registered a tournament-best 43 pars, eight birdies and just three bogeys over 54 holes to become the second Rocket to earn medalist honors this season. Lee tied for fifth place in last year's event after shooting a two-over 73 in her final round to finish at nine-over 222.
"The last two days were a test of mental toughness," Lee said. "I am proud of how I handled myself and my process until the end. I want to thank Coach Jenny and Coach Stephanie for being there every step of the way. I also want to thank all of my teammates for showing me endless support."

Junior Angel Hii carded a two-over par 73 today and tied for 18th place at 15-over par 228 (83-72-73), while senior Amelia Lee shot a three-over par 74 to finish in 35th place at 23-over par 236 (81-81-74).
