Sophomore fires back-to-back career-best 68s

COVINGTON, La. – Sophomore Yedam Lee fired back-to-back career-low 68s on Monday and sits atop the leader board at the Tchefuncta Invitational. Lee's play helped the Rockets to a fourth-place standing as a team at the par-71, 6,044-yard Tchefuncta Country Club.

"The team showed grit and resolve today as this course is more difficult than our last event," Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said. "They managed the elements well overall as wind gusted high throughout the day."

Lee played near flawless golf over 36 holes, tallying seven birdies and just one bogey. She tied for fifth place in last year's event after shooting a two-over 73 in her final round to finish at nine-over 222.

"Yedam was steady emotionally all day," Coluccio said. "She was never too high or low and trusted everything she was doing. While it looked smooth all day, it wasn't. She was able to take advantage of good opportunities and her putting was on for when she scrambled to save pars."

Juniors Angel Hii (83-72) and Cheryl Hong (78-77) are tied for 23^rd place at 13-over par, while junior Macy Hanus is tied for 29^th place with a 14-over par 156 (77-79). Rounding out the Rocket lineup is senior Amelia Lee tied in 39^th place at 20-over par 162 (81-81).

Junior Kaitlyn Natividad is competing as an individual and in 44^th at 173 (85-88).

The tournament's final round will be held tomorrow beginning with a 9:00 a.m. ET shotgun start.
