Sornlaksup went undefeated in singles and doubles competition at MAC Indoor last weekend
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo senior Pawit Sornlaksup earned his first academic recognition of the year by being named the Mid-American Conference's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. Sornlaksup went undefeated in singles and doubles play at the MAC Indoors over the weekend to win both Flight 1 Singles and Doubles in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The Rayong, Thailand native lost only one set against three highly competitive conference opponents en route to the Flight 1 Singles title for a second-straight season. Sornalskup defeated Northern Illinois' Mikael Vollbach (7-6, 6-2), Western Michigan's Ben George (1-6, 6-4, 6-1) and Western Michigan's Anton Arzhankin (7-6, 6-1). The two-time MAC Player of the Year has not lost a conference match since joining the Rockets' program at the start of the 2021-22 season.
Sornlaksup and teammate Marko Galic swept their three opponents to capture the Flight 1 Doubles title.

Each week, schools are asked to nominate one male and one female among their sports that are in season at the time. The winner is selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
Sornlaksup is pursuing a degree in information systems and maintains a 3.843 GPA.
Sornlaksup and the Rockets will finish out their fall competition this weekend in Columbus, Ohio at the M25 ITS Future Tour.
