TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball team will face a pair of Mid-American Conference foes on the road this week, visiting Miami on Thursday before facing Bowling Green on Friday.

Last Time Out
The Rockets visited Central Michigan last weekend and came away with a series split. Toledo won Saturday's match in four sets before being swept on Sunday.

After losing the first set (25-16) on Saturday, the Rockets came back and dominated the second set (25-11) to even the match at 1-1. UT used a late surge to win the third set (25-19) to go up 2-1 in the match before winning a thrilling fourth set (27-25) to end the match. Three Rockets tallied double-digit kills, with senior Taylor Alt leading the way with 15 terminations. Freshman Macy Hatkevich got the start at setter and registered a double-double with 35 assists and 11 digs.

Despite the final score on Sunday, all three sets were very close and could have gone either way. The Rockets lost by just two points in all three sets and played extra points in the second and third. The first set ended with a 25-23 final score, the second set score was 28-26, and the third and final set ended at 27-25.

Rocket Notes
  • Ryann Jaqua has 1,985 career digs entering play this weekend, most among active MAC players and seventh-most among all active players in Division I.
  • Jaqua is approaching 2,000 career digs, which would make her the second Rocket to ever reach that milestone. Former player and current assistant coach Maurissa Leonard is Toledo's all-time leader in career digs with 2,260.
  • Jaqua is averaging 4.91 digs/set this season, tops in the MAC and 28th in the country.
  • Taylor Alt ranks among the nation's best in career kills/set, sitting eighth among active Division I players (3.98). That figure is the best in school history.
  • Alt is averaging an incredible 4.93 kills/set in MAC play this year, comfortably the highest figure in the league.
  • According to the NCAA, Toledo has played the third-toughest schedule to date among MAC schools.
