Senior Cheryl Hong leads Rockets with sixth-place finish

KETTERING, Ohio – Senior Cheryl Hong tied for sixth place on Tuesday as the Toledo women's golf team finished fifth at Dayton's Flyer Invitational. The Rockets finished with a team score of 898 and finished just nine strokes out of second place competing on the par-70, 5,937-yard NCR North Course.

Hong registered an eight-over par 218 after carding a four-over par 74 in today's final round. It was the fourth Top 10 finish of her Rocket career.

Senior Macy Hanus shot the Rockets' best round of the day with a one-over par 71 to tie for 14^th place at 12-over par 222. Junior Yedam Lee and senior Angel Hii tied for 18^th place at 14-over par 224, while junior Kyleigh Dull and senior Amelia Lee tied for 39^th place at 22-over par 232.

Senior Kaitlyn Natividad (59^th/241) also competed as an individual for Toledo.

Indianapolis captured the tournament title with a 33-over par 873. Ohio State's Kailie Vongsaga earned medalist honors competing as an individual with a four-over par 214.

Toledo will wrap up its fall season in two weeks when it competes in the Mercer Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 30-31.
