Toledo Bounces Back to Sweep Morehead State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Toledo women's volleyball team (4-2) ended its weekend with a three-set sweep of Morehead State on Saturday at the Michigan Invitational.

After dropping a pair of matches to two tough opponents on Friday, the Rockets bounced back to sweep the Eagles in dominant fashion. UT hit .418 on Saturday and held Morehead State to a .167 attack percentage.

"Overall I feel like our team found some learning moments," head coach Jason Oliver said. "It was good to see us perform better against a good Morehead State team and not make those same mistakes the second day. We are looking for those challenging moments so we can grow as a team."

Junior Jada Bouyer was outstanding, tallying a match-high 11 kills while hitting .786 and adding a pair of blocks. Senior Rhyenne Filisi had a good day as well with seven kills and a .778 attack percentage. Junior Payton Morman paced the Rockets' offensive attack with 27 assists while contributing three blocks on the defensive end.

Next up for Toledo is a weekend tournament at Western Kentucky next weekend. The Rockets will also face Northern Kentucky and Austin Peay.
