NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Toledo women's golf team registered a team score of 901 to finish its first tournament of the season on Sunday with a ninth-place finish at the Yale Invitational. The tournament was played at the par-71, 5,991-yard Yale Golf Course.

Senior Amelia Lee and freshman Reese Jansa paced Toledo today with three-over par 74s, one in front of junior Macy Hanus' four-over 75.

Lee led the Rockets in the individual standings by tying for 28th place at nine-over par 222, two strokes ahead of Hanus (T-36th/224). Hanus' 54-hole score was her best as a collegian.

Jansa finished in 45th place at 226 in her first collegiate tournament.

Rounding out the Rockets' lineup were junior Angel Hii tied for 61st place at 234 and sophomore Yedam Lee tied for 70th place at 238.

"This is a good starting point for us and a great place to build from," Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said. "We were consistent among our Top 3; however, they all felt like there was more left in the tank. This is quite a golf course and takes time to trust your lines on blind shots. We settled in well after the start, but we just couldn't quite capitalize on lots of quality birdie opportunities."

Toledo is back in action next weekend when it travels to University Park, Pa. for the Nittany Lion Invitational. The 54-hole tournament will be held on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 17-18.
