Last Time Out
Toledo went 3-0 at the Webb-Burbridge Classic in Tempe, Ariz. last weekend, defeating Northern Iowa, CSU Bakersfield, and Arizona State en route to the tournament title.

Junior Jada Bouyer was named the Webb-Burbridge Classic MVP after averaging 2.91 kills/set and hitting .344 across three matches. Senior Ryann Jaqua was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 4.73 digs/set on the weekend.

Last Friday's victories over UNI and Bakersfield both came in four sets, while the Rockets capped the weekend with a three-set sweep of the Sun Devils on Saturday. Toledo's win over ASU was its first over a Power Five program since 2010 when the team defeated No. 12 Michigan.

Rocket Notes
  • Toledo's 3-0 start is its first since 2011 when the team defeated Wright State, Niagara, and Oakland to open the year at the Toledo/Asics Invitational.
  • Ryann Jaqua cracked the Top 10 in career digs last weekend and her total now stands at 1,188, 19 away from moving into ninth place all-time.
  • Taylor Alt's 25 kills in the win over CSU Bakersfield are the most by a MAC player so far this season and the fourth match of her career with at least 25 kills.
  • The Rockets were arguably the best defensive team in the MAC last season and have picked up right where they left off this year. They rank atop the league in blocks/set (2.64) and second in opponent attack percentage (.157).
  • Toledo and Ball State are the only two MAC teams to start the year 3-0.
  • Payton Morman ranks second in the MAC in assists/set (10.64).

About Michigan
Michigan also started the season in the State of Arizona and also won all three of its matches. The Wolverines defeated Old Dominion, Utah Tech, and Northern Arizona at the Lumberjack Classic in Flagstaff, dropping just one set all weekend long. Junior outside hitter Jess Mruzik, a preseason All-Big Ten honoree, ranks fifth in the Big Ten in kills/set (4.10) and ended her weekend with back-to-back double-doubles.

About Loyola Chicago
Loyola went 1-2 last weekend at the Tennessee Classic, falling to Tennessee and No. 13 Purdue and capturing its lone win against Bowling Green. Junior libero Grace Hinchman recorded her 1,000th career dig in the Ramblers' five-set loss against the Volunteers.

About Morehead State
Morehead State enters the weekend 2-0 after its weekend at the UNC Asheville Invitational. The Eagles came home with victories against Queens University and Stonehill College, both of which are reclassifying into Division I this year. Senior setter Bridget Bessler was named OVC Setter of the Week after averaging 10.80 assists/set.
