Rockets Receive Special Recognition as Part of GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Honors

 TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team has received Special Recognition for posting a 3.68 grade-point average as part of the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Outstanding Team Academic honors, the organization announced today.
"We are extremely grateful to be honored by the GCAA," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "Our team is filled with a driven bunch of young men who know that excellence is not an accident. Â They have much to be proud of."
Junior NJ Botha, freshman Jamie Butler and junior Logan Hooper paced the Rockets in the 2021-22 academic year with 3.9 grade-point averages or higher. Senior David Amm and sophomore Jamie Tofte Nielsen each topped the 3.8 GPA mark, while junior Palmer Yenrick and sophomore Barend Botha also made the Dean's List with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
The Rockets enjoyed an impressive season on the links as well, finishing just four shots shy of winning the Mid-American Conference Championships. Toledo also set a school record with an amazing 22-under par 842 at the Quail Valley Collegiate last October.Â
