TOLEDO, Ohio – Four members of the Toledo baseball team earned postseason recognition from the Mid-American Conference, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Junior pitcher Kyle Jones was named First-Team All-MAC, while sophomore pitcher Connor Brandon and freshman infielder Garret Pike were both named Second-Team All-MAC. Sophomore infielder Jeron Williams earned MAC All-Defensive Team honors.

Toledo's Friday ace, Jones is 7-3 with a 3.74 ERA and a school-record 108 strikeouts this season. He has nine games of at least eight strikeouts to his name and he leads the MAC in punchouts, innings pitched (86.2) and K/BB ratio (5.68). Earlier this month, he was named Toledo's MAC Medal of Excellence recipient, which is presented annually to a male and female student-athlete who has distinguished themselves academically, athletically, and through demonstrated service and leadership. Jones is a three-time MAC Pitcher of the Week this year and has made a name for himself on a national level; next month he will participate in MLB's Draft Combine in San Diego.

Pike was named All-MAC as a designated hitter, where he has seen the bulk of his game action this year. The Waterville, Ohio native is hitting a team-best .337 with four home runs, 24 RBIs, and 30 runs scored in 49 games. In addition to DH, Pike has also seen time at first and third base. He was named MAC Player of the Week on April 18 after hitting .625 in four games against Kent State. Pike also leads the Rockets in hitting in MAC play, having posted a .370 batting average against conference opponents.

Brandon sports a 7-4 record and a 4.37 ERA and is second on the team with 81 strikeouts. He ranks fifth in strikeouts and sixth in ERA in the MAC and also sits in the Top 10 in wins, batting average against (.242), and innings pitched (70.0). Brandon set a career high with 10 strikeouts in starts against Western Michigan (March 21) and Miami (May 4) and has 66 strikeouts in conference play.

Williams is Toledo's first all-defensive team honoree since Ross Adolph in 2018. The Archbold, Ohio native has started 54 of Toledo's 55 games at shortstop and provided the Rockets with exemplary defense all season long. He hasn't committed an error in 16 straight games and has helped Toledo turn 22 double plays in MAC play.  Williams has been terrific at the plate as well this year, hitting .323 with 22 stolen bases and 45 runs scored.
