Distance Runners Head to Ole Miss This Weekend

TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo's women's track & field team will send a group of 10 distance runners to the Joe Walker Invitational on the campus of Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss. on Friday and Saturday. Â
Emily Vining will be Toledo's representative in the steeplechase on Friday. Krystal Clark, Semra Karaslan, Lou Trois and Madeline Vining will also compete on Friday in the 1500m. Sarah-Rose Sullivan and Margrett Watt will join Clark, Karaslan and Trois in the 800m on Saturday. Joy Chirchir, Faith Linga and Stephanie Sherman will run in the 5000m on Saturday.
Last Time Out
Freshman Margrett Watt and sophomore Promise Cross each registered fourth-place finishes to lead Toledo to a 10th-place finish at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati on Saturday, April 2. Watt finished fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:11.91, just ahead of sophomore Sarah-Rose Sullivan, who placed eighth with a time of 2:14.62.  Cross was fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.66m.
