TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo junior pitcher
Kyle Jones has been invited to participate in the 2022 MLB Draft Combine. The event will be held at Petco Park in San Diego from June 14-20.

Jones has turned himself into one of the top pitchers in the Mid-American Conference. He leads the Rockets with 73 strikeouts in 57.2 innings pitched as the Friday starter this year, both of which lead the MAC. He also ranks fifth in ERA (4.21) and third in fewest walks allowed (nine). He has two MAC Pitcher of the Week honors this year and was named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week earlier this season as well.

Jones has a shot to break the school's single-season strikeout record, currently held by Jeremy Griffiths (102, 1999). He has six outings of at least eight strikeouts this season, including a career-high 13 in his start against Miami on March 25. Jones sits 17
th in the country in K/BB ratio (8.11) and 22
nd in total strikeouts.

About the MLB Draft Combine

The top 300 draft-eligible players, as identified by USA Baseball and MLB Clubs, will be invited to attend the 2022 Draft Combine along with up to 30 supplemental invites. The Combine will provide an opportunity for players to participate in a series of medical and performance assessments as well as educational programming designed to prepare them for careers in professional baseball. All players will have the opportunity to participate in a pro-style showcase workout, as well as strength and performance assessments.

As part of the Combine experience, attendees will benefit from the opportunity to interview and interact directly with Major League Club general managers and scouting directors, as well as an enhanced medical evaluation process.
