VESTAL, N.Y – The Toledo men's tennis team ended its 2021-22 regular season with a 7-0 sweep over Binghamton on Sunday afternoon. The win improved the Rockets to 14-8 overall with a 7-3 record in MAC play and marks their second sweep over the Bearcats this season.

Binghamton won the first doubles court of the afternoon in a 6-2 decision from No. 3, but Toledo clinched the doubles team point from 6-4 victories on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts.

In singles play, junior Luka Jankovic got the ball rolling from the No. 4 court in a quick 6-1, 6-0 victory. Junior Krzysztof Wetoszka also had a two-set win from the No. 3 court, and sophomore Adam Kovac clinched the match in a three-set comeback from the No. 2 court. Juniors Luis Kleinschnitz (No. 6) and Marko Galic (No. 5) swept the bottom two courts, and sophomore Pawit Sornlaksup ended the match with a comeback 6-7(5), 6-1, 7-6(5) victory on the No. 1 court.

"Today was another very professional episode and we did what we came here for," head coach Al Wermer said, "Our goal was to get the 'W', secure our No. 2 seed, and grab some momentum for the MAC Tourney."

Sornlaksup ended the season on a 20-match win streak on the No. 1 court and was undefeated vs. conference opponents. Galic ended the season on an eight-match win streak and had one loss (9-1) against MAC opponents. As a doubles team, Sornlaksup and Galic went 15-1 from the top court, won their last 12 matches, and were 8-0 against MAC doubles teams.
