TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team will head to Oxford, Ohio this weekend for a rematch with Miami on Friday, April 15. The Rockets and RedHawks will take the court at 1:00 p.m. at the Miami Tennis Courts.
Friday's match will be the second time in two weeks Toledo (15-5, 5-2 MAC) and Miami (12-9, 6-1 MAC) have gone head-to-head. Miami broke Toledo's 12-match home win streak with a 4-3 win on April 7.
Last Time on the Court
Toledo went 1-1 at home over last weekend, falling to Miami 4-3 on Thursday and defeating Bowling Green 5-2 on Saturday. Senior
Eileen Carney (No. 6), junior
Sloane Teske (No. 2), and sophomore
Shalini Tallamraju (No. 4) all went 2-0 in singles competition. Teske defeated 2021 MAC Player of the Year Laura Rico of Miami (6-3, 6-3), and BG's Ionna Tsadri (6-2, 6-2) who she lost to twice last season.
Teske's performance earned her MAC Player of the Week honors on Wednesday.
About Miami
Miami lost its first conference match and snapped its five-match win streak in a 6-1 setback to Ball State on Sunday. Senior Brindtha Ramasamy clinched the lone point for the RedHawks on the No. 1 singles court along with senior Laura Rico on the No. 1 doubles court.
