Toledo Welcomes Buffalo in Home Series Opener

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team will host Buffalo in its first home series of the 2022 season, this Friday-Saturday, March 25-26 at Scott Park.

Last Time Out
Buffalo (10-9, 2-1 MAC) dropped the last game in a three-game series conference opener vs. Ohio on Saturday, following back-to-back wins on Friday. The Bulls' first two games were won by a one-run margins, while Saturday's finale was called in the sixth with a 10-2 final in favor of Ohio. Junior Alexis Lucyshyn leads the Bulls with a .333 average ,including 18 hits in 19 games with 13 RBIs. In the circle, sophomore Julia Tarantino has a 5-5 record coming into this weekend, with a team-high 36 strikeouts through 63.1 innings pitched.

Toledo will play four games next week, starting with a non-conference game in East Lansing, Mich. to play Michigan State on Wednesday, March 30. The Rockets will then head down I-75 to play three games at rival Bowling Green on Friday-Saturday, April 1-2.

- Senior Bri Robeson drove in the game-winning run for the Rockets in the eighth inning of the series opener on Saturday (5-4).
- Freshman Sophia Knight picked up her fourth win and a season-high 8.0 innings pitched on Saturday when she struck out the final three batters in the eighth to secure the win. The next day, Knight went the distance in the series finale, allowing five hits and striking out six batters in a 2-1 defeat.
