Toledo Welcomes Ball State for Conference Home Opener

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team will open a three-match homestead beginning with Ball State on Saturday, March 19 at Shadow Valley Tennis Club. First serve between the Rockets (8-6, 1-1 MAC) and Cardinals (6-6, 1-1 MAC) is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
"All conference matches are big," head coach Al Wermer said. "We just try to get ready as best we can, and continue to focus on improvement each day. I'm very pumped we can get back to hosting matches with "the extras" for fans, like free food and giveaways!"
Next week, the Rockets will host Buffalo (2-7, 1-0 MAC) on Friday, March 25 and Binghamton (1-11, 0-1 MAC) on Sunday, March 27Â

Toledo split its conference opener weekend with a 6-1 victory vs. Northern Illinois on Friday, followed by a hard-fought 5-2 setback to Western Michigan on Sunday. Sophomore Pawit Sornlaksup's combined four wins on the No. 1 courts over the weekend marked his 12th-straight singles win and fifth straight doubles win with junior Marko Galic.

Ball State picked up its first conference win of the season, 5-2 over Northern Illinois on Sunday. The Cardinals earned the doubles point from wins on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts, and clinched the match with wins from the No. 1, 3, 5, and No. 6 singles courts.
