Toledo Travels to Akron to Compete in 18th Annual Akron Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's track and field team is in the thick of its indoor season and travels to Akron, Ohio for the 18th Annual Akron Invitational on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 4-5.
Friday's events will begin with field events at 4:00 p.m. and track events will start at 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, track events will begin at 10:00 a.m. with field events following at 11:00 a.m.
Last Time Out
Six Rockets who competed at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic last Friday set new personal records in either the mile or 3000m run. In the mile, sophomore Lou Trois now holds the No. 1 time in the MAC with a time of 4:44.44, 17 seconds less than her previous personal record. In the 3000m, sophomore Emily Vining also moved into the No. 1 time in the MAC when she shaved off 18 seconds off her personal-best time when she ran a 9:28.7.
Trois' efforts were good enough to earn her second MAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor.
