TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's tennis team looks to remain perfect at home in its double dual matches on Friday, Feb. 4 with Wayne State and Findlay at Twos Athletic Club.
Toledo (3-1) will take the court with the Warriors at 10:00 a.m. followed by an afternoon match with the Oilers at 2:00 p.m.
Last Time on the Court
Head Coach
Tracy Mauntler's team is coming off a 2-0 performance in its home-opening weekend. Toledo picked up the doubles point and four singles matches for the 5-2 win over Youngstown State on Jan. 28. The next day, the Rockets pulled out five singles victories to upset defending Horizon League champions UIC, 5-2, on Jan. 29.
Sophomore
Cassie Alcala was named Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week, while Alcala and junior
Sloane Teske were named Doubles Team of the Week following their performances at both matches.
About Wayne State
Wayne State closed out its 2020-21 season winning eight of its nine matches for a 12-8 overall record and a third-place showing in the GLIAC Tournament. The Warriors enter the spring portion of their season with a 1-0 record following a 6-1 win over Hillsdale (Sept. 24).
About Findlay
Findlay enters its matchup with Toledo with a 2-1 record, including wins over Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 9) and Oberlin (Oct. 16). The Oilers are 2-0 on the road this season.
