MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The University of Toledo women's tennis team ended its two-match weekend with a 7-0 sweep over George Washington on Sunday in Morgantown, W. Va. The Rockets went 2-0 this weekend in their back-to-back road matches.
"After finishing the WVU match around 7:00 p.m. last night, the turnaround was quick for a 9:00 a.m. match today," head coach Tracy Mauntler said. "The level of play today was extremely high and it shows not only how fit this team is, but also how mentally tough they are."
Toledo won all three doubles matches to secure the doubles team point early in the match. The Rockets then ran away with the match in singles competition, winning every court in two matches.
"I definitely think we sent a message with this dominant win today," Mauntler said.
Toledo (9-2) will head to California for the final leg of its non-conference schedule. The Rockets will visit UC Riverside on Saturday, March 5 and Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday, March 8.
