Rockets Back on the Road for Two Matches in West Virginia

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's tennis team will continue the non-conference portion of its schedule this weekend in Morgantown, W. VA on Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 26-27.
Toledo (7-2) will face West Virginia (5-3) on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. followed by George Washington (2-3) on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
Sophomore Cassie Alcala is 9-0 this season in singles competition on the No. 1 court for the Rockets and has won her last 11 matches dating back to last season. Junior Sloane Teske is also 9-0 this season on the No. 2 singles court.
LAST TIME ON THE COURT
The Rockets had their seven-match win streak snapped by a 4-3 defeat to Cincinnati on Feb. 20. The Bearcats put up victories on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts for the doubles point and won the needed three singles court to secure the match. Alcala, Teske, and Shalini Tallamraju each had the individual wins for the Rockets.
ABOUT WEST VIRGINIA
West Virginia is coming off a close 4-3 setback to Kentucky on Feb. 20. The Mountaineers were swept on the doubles courts and won the bottom three singles courts. The Wildcats won the top three singles courts for the match win. Senior Anastasia Bovolskaia leads the pack with a 3-5 singles record and a 4-3 doubles record on the top courts. The Mountaineers will play George Washington on Saturday morning before taking the court with the Rockets in the afternoon.

George Washington blanked Delaware State 7-0 on Feb. 17 in Washington D.C to snap its two-match losing streak. The Colonials will take the court with West Virginia on Saturday before their latch with the Rockets on Sunday.
