TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's volleyball team returns home this weekend to host Kent State in a pair of matches. Friday's match is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN+ and Saturday's contest will start at 3:00 p.m. on ESPN3.

The Rockets are playing at home for the first time since their home tournament on Sept. 10-11.

Last Time Out
Toledo opened MAC play last weekend with two matches at Ohio, coming home 1-1 after two three-set decisions.

The Bobcats won the first match handily, but the Rockets were able to bounce back and win the next night in a three-set sweep. Sophomore Taylor Alt was terrific, notching a double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs while hitting .303. Junior Sina Uluave added 10 kills and hit .308 to help the cause. Junior Olivia Vance added seven kills and junior Rhyenne Filisi had a match-high five blocks.

Toledo is 10-4 heading into this weekend, the best start through 14 matches since 2004, when the team was 11-3.
The Rockets are tied with Bowling Green in blocks/set (2.27) and have two players in the Top 10 in the MAC in blocks: Olivia Vance (0.96/set) and Rhyenne Filisi (0.87).
Vance has had five matches with at least five blocks this season, while Filisi has had three such performances. Filisi has at least three blocks in each of her last four matches.
Taylor Alt has been among the most productive players in the MAC all season long. She leads the league in scoring (4.60 points/set) and is second in kills (3.82/set).
Toledo ranks first in the MAC in service aces (1.72/set) and service aces allowed (0.84/set). Ryann Jaqua (216-for-221, .977) and Sina Uluave (232-for-238, .975) have both anchored the Rockets' serve receive game thus far.

About Kent State
The Golden Flashes are 6-8 this season and are coming off a 1-1 weekend against Ball State. Kent State opened MAC play with a thrilling, come-from-behind win against the Cardinals last Friday, during which Savannah Matthews notched 27 kills and 18 digs while hitting .412. Matthews is averaging 3.31 kills/set this season, seventh in the MAC. Teammates Ainsley Guse (.364) and Danie Tyson (.335) are first and fourth in the league in attack percentage, respectively.
