TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo men's tennis team finished its weekend at home hosting the Rocket Invite on Sunday. The Rockets' lone match on Sunday was against Northwestern Ohio.

"We had a few important team priorities for this event and we feel really good about how our players came together, competed hard, and grew this weekend," head coach Al Wermer said.
Sophomores Adam Kovac and Pawit Sornlaksup were Toledo's All-Tournament Team honorees. Kovac was 4-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles. Sornlaksup was 3-0 playing singles and 3-0 in doubles, winning twice while pairing with sophomore Vlad Meluta and once while playing with junior Krzysztof Wetoszka.
Against UNOH, the Rockets won three of its six matches, with all three victories coming in singles. Sornlaksup easily dispatched his opponent (6-0, 6-1), while Kovac and senior Cole Shoults were both locked in battles with their Racer counterparts. Sornlaksup dropped the first set, 6-4, but came back to win the next two sets 6-3 and 10-6, respectively. Likewise, Shoults lost his first set but won the next two 6-2 and 10-8 to come out on top.
Next up for Toledo is the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., which runs from Oct. 2-10.
